American Military Spouses Choir to Hold Auditions in Southern California
The American Military Spouses Choir, “The Force Behind the Force,” is coming to your area and wants you to join them in song! We are now holding auditions for performances in the Southern California area. The auditions are open to male or female spouses of active duty service members. We will, however, consider National Guard, Reserve and spouses of Retired Service Members as well.
Auditions will be held via the internet and rehearsals will take place on Fort Irwin, California on November 6, and in the Los Angeles area on November 7 (location to come). Music and materials will be sent out in advance. If chosen, you will only be required to attend one of the rehearsals to be able to participate.
Performances will vary throughout the year. Our first performances are on November 8 on the Hallmark Channel’s “Home and Family” show, to air on Veterans Day, and then on November 10 on the Homeward Bound Telethon www.homewardboundtelethon.com). The Telethon will be aired on the Military Channel LIVE from 7-11 p.m. with hosts Alan Alda and Joe Mantegna, and will raise funds and awareness for our veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury.
This is an opportunity to become part of a musical group that represents spouses all over the country and all over the world and was recently a top contender on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” They were put together and are managed by CAMMO, The Center for American Military Music Opportunities, an organization that develops military artists, provides educational opportunities in music and the arts, and develops and executes cutting edge music therapy programs for our veterans and our service members.
